A look back at Coverings 2008
New product innovation soared in the Italian pavilion. Manufacturers set forth their trendsetting introductions and the trade responded enthusiastically. Fashion-forward patterns, surface textures and shimmering metallic colorways were seen at every Italian exhibitor booth. These new tile collections are landing in dealers and distributors across the country. The 2008 edition of Coverings also marked the final year for Bernard Tschumi’s masterpiece. The crowd-favorite booth went out in high-style as it was clad in elegant gold and platinum tiles. Big plans including a brand new design for the Ceramic Tiles of Italy booth are in the works for the 2009 show, which will be held from April 21-24 in Chicago, IL.

Ceramic Tiles of Italy at AIA 2008
The Italian Trade Commission and Confindustria Ceramica launched a new informational booth at the AIA Convention in Boston, MA (May 15-17). Designed by Italian architects Dante Donegani & Giovanni Lauda, the Ceramic Tiles of Italy exhibit was a crowd favorite. The design of the booth with its inventive concept of an open space, allowed guests to easily navigate the area and experience the carefully curated selection of products. Company catalogs and educational materials were available for guests to take along with them for reference.
